Cut the butter into small pieces and mix with the sugar until creamy. Add the beaten eggs and continue to mix.
Then add the flour, baking powder, milk, a little lemon juice and the salt. Pour half of the dough into a greased baking pan.
Stir the second half of the dough with cocoa, sugar and rum flavoring and put it into the baking pan as well. To get a nice pattern, prick the dough with a fork at 1 cm intervals and pull them up again (“whisk” the two doughs together).
Bake the cake at 180 °C for about 90 minutes.
Preparation Tip:
The finished Gugelhupf can be covered with chocolate icing as desired.
