For the pasta with green asparagus, halve the onion and cut into thin slices. Chop the garlic and fry in olive oil together with the onion.

Wash the asparagus, break off the firmer ends, cut into small rings, add to the pan, season with salt and pepper and sauté for about 5 minutes (the asparagus should still have some bite).

In the meantime, cook the pasta al dente, dice the tomatoes and chop the basil a bit. Add the tomatoes and basil to the pan and fry very briefly.

Season to taste, adding a squeeze of lemon juice if desired, and stir in the pasta. Sprinkle with Parmesan before serving.
